Nowadays, more and more people are addicted to their screen. Back in the 1950's no one had a mobile phone, therefore they didn’t have the chance to always be connected. But this also meant that they didn’t have the issues we have because of new technologies.
We can agree that new technologies are very useful; we can do everything on the Internet such as shopping, chatting with friends, and dating people. All the information about what’s happened in the world is way more accessible, for this reason people are more knowledgeable than before. Sadly people don’t know how to control themselves; new technologies are sometimes hard to use, especially for teenagers who often don’t think carefully about what they write on the Internet and the impact it can have on people, in fact "about 58 percent of kids and teens have reported that something mean has been said about them or to them online". This is a new issue as a result of bad use of the Internet. Also, always being connected can be a real problem for the society, I’ve seen a lot of adults who have been unable to disconnect from their mobile during family time, or holiday, always responding to their emails.
In conclusion, I think we should not look at the past, if people are not happy it’s because they are not making an effort, when you really want something you can make it happen but unfortunately nowadays people prefer to make money and be connected than being happy.
If people were sensible with what they do, problems with today’s society would be greatly reduced
